about

The real Brazil isn't the coast, isn't populated by bossa nova guitar players or the cool urbanites that want to be Europeans. The real deal is rough with edges and if there's a truly Brazilian electronic artist that dialogue with the modernist concept of "eat and throw up" is Forró Red Light.

Dots, sounds, grooves that should not be familiar walk hand in hand. In fact, not together, but forcefully connected by jolts of electricity that put a 909 in a sandy dancefloor with hot cachaça shots to celebrate the fact that we're alive. "Tropeiros Trópicos" is about long distances walked by the real Brazilians that built this nation. Forgotten people that hardly get a good morning, people that have dreams to have a better life in places far away.

Directly from Brasilia, Geninho Nacanoa and Ramiro Galas are doing the real folklore, and this EP is a clash of the traditions and the modernist spirit, exactly like the city that they came from where the future is surrounded by some of the roughest suburbs in the country.

Forró Red Light is the sound of confusion.

Tropeiros Trópicos is thought of in the connotation of the expansion of the senses that the imagery of whoever sees is gained. When we go to say Tropeiros Trópicos we launch in the air the provocation, of decoding the signs. In phonetics, the idea is to open up the meaning to the perception of a trot, the gallop of a horse. And for the understanding of semantics, the double meaning is also embedded. In the meaning that at first, it can be understood as this contrast of being a Tropeiro from the region of the Tropics, a symbol of this hinterland of the central region, of these mystical Generations, of the deep forests and riversides, which brings in its history this dialectic of belonging to a forgotten people, to a region of so many riches threatened and still unexplored, in a country that is recognized almost exclusively, all over the world for its coastal geographical characteristics, and its extremely tropical people, of beach, samba, and carnival.

Along with this implicit semantic sense, there is also the possibility of the interpretation of being drunken, drunken drovers. Low-income, simple-living Brazilians. No guarantees, security, or certainty, but always strong, going forward. Travelers in their adventurous lives but without resources. Citizens without rights or guarantees. Cheap labor, exploited workers, tired but resilient with their dreams and their faith leading life and their troops. Following ... The trail and its destinations;)

Seguindo... A trilha e seus destinos ;)
