about

We could easily paint a nice picture of Marta Supernova's debut. The sound bounces, it's full of energy and without any doubt, it's a true manifestation of what Brazilian electronic music should be.

But everything comes with a price.

Marta goes deep within the afro Brazilian rhythms and her own struggles add a different dimension into a very personal record. "Tá Foda Esta Bocada" (It's Rough Here) it's the centerpiece of this set (in both versions) and informs that while the dancefloors are a lost area (and empty) we need to acknowledge everything that comes with dance music and the fact that is a culture originated from sexual and racial oppression, not an advertising briefing. The music might return at some point but are we aware of the context without the sweat?

This record is about "lesbianism" - says Marta - it's about blackness, it's about everything spread out in a package of electronic music, for a dancefloor full of hopes and a without air, full of doubts and with a bit of an expired chocolate taste.

It's been a while that a record and an artist are the same entity. It's easy to think that both are always connected, but this isn't true.

Marta is a translucent flashback.
