about

//

For a couple of decades, the renascence man Arthur Joly is perverting bodies and souls. Trading as Mugomango, crafting the most intense analogic dubs, or simply making some noise, Joly is one of the few cases where machine and man turn into man-machine. Not only playing those analog boxes, but he is also a synth maker and active member of the synth community in Brazil, besides that a very experienced producer and vinyl mastering specialist.

Recodrum is his own analog drum, handmade and different from other modern boxes when plugged into 110 volts, spit pure electricity. In Joly’s previous chapter, the drum went acid and this time takes a ride into a Delorean for electro-funk explorations from the early ’80s, where masters like Newcleus and Egyptian Lover walk hand in hand with new faces like DMX Krew and Luke Vibert.

Recodrum Goes Funk is man-machine.
