about

"BFF" is about friendships, this highly malleable feeling that indicates compelling imagery of connection and hope, something that right now is almost untouchable as the concept of infinity.

TYV is the name that Bruno Protti do not use between friends and family, unless if the subject is music. If music is your family, whoever, that's his name.

For almost 10 years, his dense sets, as part Gop Tun crew, brought his name into the fore of the collective, especially when the subject is original music since Bruno is the sole original music creator of the gang.

"BFF" is a natural step from "Miau," TYV's first official offering. Instead of the rigid nuances of his previous works, a natural pulse from breakbeats, and a sense of no boundaries makes this mini-album (or a very long EP) new and unpredictable. While Fett Burger's remix functions as a gateway drug for unknown ears, let's get clear: this ain't a marketing plot. TYV is a big admirer of Burger's production, so last year, when he played at one of Gop Tun's parties, the collaboration burst. On a similar sprit, Guerrinha (AKA Repetentes 2008/Japa Habilidoso) rewire the title track just in time to grab a drink. Instead of his natural gift to maximize the procedures, Guerra extracts the essential oils for a classy dub.

The sequence of the record was planned for a vinyl release, but the whole pandemic shifted plans. Don't be afraid, this is a cohesive output and not a bunch of tracks with some crazy interventions in the middle, TYV is the director in charge of the plot.

In strange times where social gatherings are folklore, this is the full realization of Gop Tun as a label. TYV was there since day one, and this record expresses the joy of the parties and feels like a night out in one of the crew's best offerings.

"BFF" is a bittersweet reminder that within a week, Bruno relocated to Lisbon, and the pandemic went overdrive. A European tour was canceled, no more parties, and for a while, the whole culture around electronic music will change. Saudades at every single level that we can imagine.

Saudade: is a mix of nostalgia or longing for an absent something or someone that one cares for and/or loves while simultaneously having positive emotions regarding the future.
